WWE NXT Superstar Je'Von Evans had a major match against the 14th WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton. The developmental brand NXT recently made a transition to The CW Network. Last week, the debut episode saw former WWE Champion CM Punk making an appearance on the show.

On the October 8th episode of WWE NXT, Je'Von Evans faced Randy Orton in a match that was a major opportunity for the young star. Evans and Orton went for a spectacular finish with an acrobatic RKO, but they missed on the first attempt. The slip-up sparked plenty of criticism, though Orton raised Evans' hand after the match and reassured him.

During the main event of last night’s episode of WWE NXT, Je’Von Evans botched what was supposed to be an RKO out of nowhere spot, jumping off the turnbuckle for a corkscrew, but failing to align correctly with Randy Orton’s arms.

Randy Orton defeated Je'Von Evans on the October 8th episode of NXT. Orton won the match with an RKO, but didn't quite catch him with one out of nowhere. Orton tried to catch Evans with the RKO as Evans went for his twisting moonsault, but just missed with it. Orton ended up picking Evans up and hitting a regular RKO for the victory.

Having had CM Punk last week, it was NXT's turn to host Randy Orton this week, with The Viper taking on up-and-comer Je'von Evans in a match that featured a high-level botch, but it was the post-match reaction of veteran Orton that got everyone's attention.
