Surrey have shored up their bowling stocks in anticipation of a heavy international workload for their seamers in 2025, by signing Matthew Fisher from Yorkshire on a one-year deal.

County champions Surrey have signed Yorkshire fast bowler Matthew Fisher for the 2025 season. The White Rose announced in August that the 26-year-old would leave the club at the end of the season. Fisher took 144 first-class wickets in 44 matches for Yorkshire,

Matthew Fisher made his Yorkshire debut at 15 and ended his time at the club by helping them achieve promotion.

Now confirmation has finally come that the 26-year-old is joining the champions. Fisher said in August that he was leaving Yorkshire at the end of the season – and he finished on a high, helping the club to County Championship promotion.

Fisher was awarded an England pace bowling development contract, having played his first Test match against the West Indies earlier in the year.
