So, the talk of preseason has been guard Lonnie Walker IV, who took a bet on himself when he signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Celtics. The signing initially came as a surprise. This is a seventh-year guard with more than 300 career NBA games signing a non-guaranteed contract to tryout for the Celtics, after all, and he’s only 25 years old.

However, even if that's not what happens, cutting Walker really isn't the end of the world, and that doesn't have anything to do with him as a player. In reality, the Celtics' bench will operate just fine without him. They proved as much during their preseason game against the Raptors.

Throughout the preseason, Lonnie Walker IV reaffirmed what many believed when he signed with the Boston Celtics in late August: in a league with only 450 roster spots, he deserves one.
