OpenAI Canvas, a fantastic new ChatGPT feature now available in its first beta release, has been specifically designed to change the landscape of writing

On Thursday, OpenAI announced a beta "canvas" feature for writing and coding. Canvas is different from the traditional chatbox interface, which makes it tedious to refine or develop ideas without the back and forth prompts.

OpenAI has launched a new “Canvas” interface for ChatGPT that allows users to adjust sections of text or code generated by the chatbot in a side-by-side collaboration. Canvas opens a separate editing window next to the existing ChatGPT chat box,

ChatGPT saves different versions of the canvas as you’re iterating, so you can return to old versions if you end up preferring that output. Writers who may be worried about what they upload being used by OpenAI to train its model should go into their user settings and make sure that “model training” is toggled off.

ChatGPT is ready to release a new interface, which it dubs "Canvas", that could help computer programmers or writers achieve more fluid workflows. Canvas opens up a separate window, parallel to ChatGPT's regular chat window, which can be used as a workspace for writing or coding projects.

Canvas is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus and Teams users, with subscribers to Enterprise and Edu tiers following in a few days.
