Orlando, Orange County and surrounding areas in Central Florida are in the forecast path for Hurricane Milton, which was nearing Category 4 strength Monday morning.

Tropical Storm Milton, but forecast to grow into a Category 3 major hurricane will likely impact Orlando and Central Florida after making landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Tropical storm Milton is expected to come ashore near Tampa as a Category 5 hurricane. It will then cut across Florida and hit several theme parks, all in or around Orlando, home to Univeral Orlando.

Milton continues to intensify and is still on track to be near major hurricane strength at landfall. The National Hurricane Center confirmed Milton is now a Category 2 hurricane. Milton is expected to strengthen further and become a Category 3 major hurricane later on Monday and a Category 4 storm on Tuesday.
